Ubisoft has remained remarkably silent regarding Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. Although the company guaranteed the game’s release this year, they have yet to announce a launch date for the forthcoming installment, even as we approach mid-2023.

Recent information leaked on Reddit suggests that Assassin’s Creed: Mirage might be closer to its release than many anticipate.

Based on the leak, the latest Assassin’s Creed installment is set to arrive in August.

The individual behind the leak purports to be a GameStop employee and states they have viewed promotional materials for Mirage. The user confidently asserts their employment at the video game store and invites moderators to confirm with them.

“I work at a GameStop (mods can verify with me if they want) and our computer has marketing for upcoming games, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which doesn’t have a release date yet,” he wrote while sharing promotional image which can be seen below.

In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the story unfolds in Baghdad and revolves around Basim, a character initially introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Instead of being an expansive RPG, the game offers a classic Assassin’s Creed experience and incorporates a parkour system influenced by AC Unity.

As Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Narrative Director Sarah Beaulieu has revealed, the upcoming stealth-action title will explore Arabic and Muslim mythology — something that was teased in the game’s trailer.
