PlayStation has unveiled the next lineup of free games heading to PlayStation Plus, giving subscribers four new titles to add to their libraries throughout September.
Starting September 1, PS Plus members across the service’s tiers will be able to claim Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes. The games will remain available until October 5, giving subscribers several weeks to add them to their collections.
The September lineup covers a surprisingly broad range of genres, from World War II stealth action and baseball to cooperative sandbox gameplay and classic-inspired JRPG adventures.
Sniper Elite: Resistance Leads September’s Lineup
The biggest title in the collection is arguably Sniper Elite: Resistance, Rebellion‘s World War II shooter that sends players behind enemy lines in occupied France.
The game puts a strong emphasis on stealth and long-range combat, allowing players to carefully pick off Axis forces while making use of the series’ trademark X-ray kill camera. Those who prefer a more direct approach can also engage enemies at close range.
Set during the same general period as the main Sniper Elite games, Resistance introduces a new protagonist, Harry Hawker, as he works alongside the French Resistance to disrupt Nazi plans.
Whether you’re already familiar with the franchise or have yet to experience its blend of tactical shooting and gruesome precision kills, September’s PS Plus offering provides a good opportunity to jump in.
MLB The Show 26 Brings Baseball To PS5
Those looking for something less explosive can step onto the diamond with MLB The Show 26.
The latest installment in Sony San Diego Studio’s long-running baseball franchise delivers another authentic MLB experience, with updated gameplay, new features, stadium effects, and multiple ways to experience the sport.
The game also lets players explore baseball across different eras, making it an appealing option for both longtime fans and newcomers who want a detailed sports simulation.
Unlike the other three games in September’s lineup, MLB The Show 26 is available exclusively for PS5.
Wobbly Life Offers Cooperative Chaos
For something considerably more lighthearted, Wobbly Life brings an open-world sandbox to PS Plus.
Players take control of customizable wobbly characters and explore a colorful world packed with jobs, activities, vehicles and other distractions. The game can be played alone, but its cooperative multiplayer is arguably where much of the fun comes from.
Friends can work together—or simply cause as much chaos as possible—as they explore the game’s open world.
Wobbly Life will be available on both PS5 and PS4.
Chained Echoes Is The RPG Pick
Rounding out the lineup is Chained Echoes, a single-player JRPG heavily inspired by classic 16-bit role-playing games.
The story takes place across the continent of Valandis, where three kingdoms have become embroiled in a devastating war. Players will assemble a group of heroes and use everything from traditional weapons and magic to powerful mechs as they attempt to bring the conflict to an end.
Its pixel-art presentation and turn-based combat make Chained Echoes a particularly different experience compared with the other September offerings.
